What does this verify?

A matching hash means the file matches the supplied manifest. It does not prove who published the page, that its claims are true, or that the claimed capture time is correct.

An independent timestamp can prove the manifest existed by the timestamp authority's time. This page does not verify RFC 3161 signatures in the browser. Download the original evidence and verify its signature separately.

A file or manifest you choose here is read locally, never uploaded. If you open a shared snapshot link after the service is connected, the page will request that snapshot's public verification record.

Saving a new snapshot requires sign-in on Severon Search. This page only checks existing evidence.
